Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

There's no need to get personal (and outright rude), you obviously feel strongly about this subject.

The point I am trying to get across is that putting your ads in a flashing square in the middle of the screen is not entirely dissimilar to encouraging the user to read the ads and click "IF" any are of interest.

With regards to your USD 2000 example, why don't you put 2000 USD on sites with flashing ad borders.

I can see your point ;), but once you add text to further entice this you cross the TOS line.
Agreed, markospowellos I give merit to your reaction...welcome to DP :)

thumbs up to you mark. i wish you well on your adsense / adbrite journey.

just remember that alot of us here in DP are adwords advertisers, so they (i am not an adwords user) feel strongly about this issue. :)

anyway i've noticed that most webmasters will immediately comply when you drop them an email informing them of the violation (like animaonline. although he made the mistake of coming here and proclaiming it's none of anyone's business).

only a few stubborn ones. like *cough* sesshoma.. *cough*

No, if there is a content issue, you will usually get a warning (depending on how blatant)

In a perfect world for sure, but in reality, WHENEVER I have dropped a helpful email to a site owner pointing out a serious seo problem, or a TOS potential problem, I have in 99% of the cases got abusive emails back telling me to ^%&$ OFF and mind my own *&^%**G business!

Now I just mind my own business, safe in the knowledge that other peoples ignorance is not my problem to solve, unless that is they ask for help in a forum someplace I vist or by PM or email to me.

In a perfect world YES, in this warped reality we live in NO . Sad but true. :(

Well, as far as Adsense goes those flashing square or borders will also be a ToS violation. You aren't allowed to draw undue attention to ads. The other ad networks (especially Banner ads) have loads of ads like that, but then it's the advertisers own creatives, and not the webmaster doing it.

pixads, please go through the TOS diligently. You are not supposed to label your ads other than two allowed phrases.

If you want to get technical, I am 99% sure it is just fine to mention that the site is supported by ad revenue. It was just against TOS to indicate to someone that they should click on the ads.
