    Advertising (learn more)

    Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

    Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

    I just wonder, is that against TOS?.. I mean, they only urge you to click on ads if you see something interesting... :D

    Nothing to do with AdSense considering they use adbrite.

    Me too... Though after 25 or so I indeed got an AS as well so I take me words back, partly.

    <div id="adbrite">

    		<!-- Begin: AdBrite -->
    		<script src="http://4.adbrite.com/mb/text_group.php?sid=72720&amp;br=1&amp;dk=726567697374657220646f6d61696e5f35" type="text/javascript"></script>
    		<p></p>
    		<div>
    			<a class="adHeadline" href="" onclick="window.open('http://www.adbrite.com/mb/commerce/purchase_form.php?opid=72720&amp;afsid=1')">Your Ad Here</a>
    		</div>
    		<!-- End: AdBrite -->
    		</div>

    Code (markup):
    Must have some rotation on there. But it's against TOS anyway. Probably AB's as well but I've never read that one.

    Hi,

    I'm the creator of MyFileLink.. Obviously I don't wan't to go against Adsense or AB's TOS.

    Can you point me in the direction of the text that say's I can't 'urge' people if the ad is of interest?

    I will remove the text immediately if true.

    Regards

    Mark Powell

    Incentives
    Web pages may not include incentives of any kind for users to click on ads. This includes encouraging users to click on the ads or to visit the advertisers’ sites as well as drawing any undue attention to the ads. For example, your site cannot contain phrases such as “click here,” “support us,” “visit these links,” or other similar language that could apply to any ad, regardless of content. These activities are strictly prohibited in order to avoid potential inflation of advertiser costs. In addition, publishers may not bring unnatural attention to sites displaying ads or referral buttons through unsolicited mass emails or unwanted advertisements on third-party websites. Publishers are also not permitted to use deceptive or unnatural means to draw attention to or incite clicks on referral buttons.

    it is too bad that some people jump right into reporting and all that, maybe a person just really didn't know, just like in this case. It would be a nice thing to try to drop a note to that person first

    Well .. Reporting cases such as this in forums, is always good.

    LOOK... It gets the job done. Owners just click trough refferes to see where they have a link and BANG ... :D

    Actually posting the url seems to work pretty good as they always follow their logs. ASA has been following some of the threads so I am sure in this case, they would let it slide (as opposed to the other thread where they said they knew and they would do what they wanted)

    I am pretty sure that 95% of the people that put labels such as "Click my ads", already know that that's against any advertisers TOS. It just pure logic damn it.

    If you are human and have an IQ over 30 you should figure that out, without reading any TOS.

    fgs: Agreed a little email would have resolved the issue.

    yfs1: Hope they let it slide - was a genuine mistake.. plus the page had only been up since Tuesday and there are no ads on the page with the text.

    expertu: Well I had an IQ of 147 (just prior to cancelling my mensa membership, that is!) and I made the mistake! - I think it's interesting that we can put the ad in the middle of the page, with a flashing border, but not mention that fact that the site is entirely funded by ads, and if one is of interest go ahead jump in!

    I tend to disagree. Maybe something went wrong, and somebody mixed up the results. You could try to do it again.

    So in your opinion it's ok for every site owner to say to it's visitors :

    right ?

    I'd just wish you will invest 2000 USD in Adwords, and then specifically target those websites that say such things.

    Cheers.

    Mark - I doubt you will see a ban as unlike click fraud where bans are without warning, there is a little leeway with other aspects of the TOS as long as you show a concern to rectify.

    There are tons of ideas within the TOS here at DP that could see you make signifigantly more then any eticement. Hopefully you stick around and take advantage of that advice and give your advertisers some benefit at the same time ;)
