We need your opinion!

We value the opinion of all webmasters that help make the internet what it is today. We would appreciate it if you could give us your thoughts on the following:

Would you prefer to submit your website for a small fee to a search engine without any paid advertisements, sponsored links, or pay per click ads at a search engine like Olcore, or would you rather submit your site for free and be listed after paid advertisements, pay per click ads and other sponsored links?

We appreciate your opinion on this topic, thank you very much!

If me and 500 other people paid to be listed under the keyword "dog" who gets to be at the top of the first page? If my site doesn't get as much traffic as another site and goes to the 12th page, why would I want to pay for that? I would rather be on the 12th page knowing it is my traffic that made it so I am not on the 13th (not my money).

What if you paid for it and could show up on the first page just as often as other sites with your keyword? Would that not make it more worth your time and money?

Sadly, there is not free lunch. Anyone who gives you something for "free" is going to have to do something to offset their costs, whether it be selling your information or listing ads. Believe you me, I would love a free submission without those kinds of worries, but there will always be a cost in one way or another.

So, some sort of rotation practice? I guess I would have to look at what I want indexed. If I had a site with local movie times I would want it to show up on Friday and Saturday nights between 7pm-10pm. What about the other sites like mine? Surely more people search for movie times on Friday nights than on Tuesday nights. How will you work that out? Keep in mind it may be more than two sites, it could be thousands.

Do not forget: some sites give everything for free at the beginning just during the first promotion period.

Paid ads bring more success in the long run.
If you can arrange the initial advertising money,
a Paid campaign would bring faster results and success.

We appreciate your opinion, but the Olcore.com project was started in part because paid ads are aren't always relevant when you do a search. We aren't in this for the money, we want a better search engine.

Honestly, I would rather get listed for free after paid ads. Free is always better when your starting out.

    Yes! Of course.
When you are new, you can test out which ads work better than others.
You can experiment more with the ads, when you're not paying for them.

But the major difference between paid ads and free ads is:
with free ads, you get traffic
with paid ads, you get prospective customers.

Also to note, paid advertising should be chosen wisely. There are many
methods of paid advertising which will drown you more than help you
    surface.

I think PPC is the best way of Paid advertising.

Agreed. Free is a great way to try something about and to check things out with a service that you might consider paying for in the future.

Exactly. You should expect more when you pay for something. If you pay for an olcore.com listing subscription, you get higher visibility. Visibility=traffic=potential sales/customers

We find that most PPC services will do this. Think about all the times you've clicked a link only to spend a few moments on a site and then decide you didn't want anything there. If that was a PPC link you clicked, you just cost that webmaster or company some money and gave them nothing but a hit in return. Why pay all that money for the possibilty of good traffic and sales if that's all that it is; a lot of money for a mere possibilty. What if you pay one fee, and that was it?

Olcore's look has been tweaked a bit, and we're gaining new sites quite quickly. We would love some more feedback from all of you!
