Way Too Funny Folks, I have to share this with you all because I know some people might be contacting this OP about this job. He just PM'ed me saying his rate is 10 cents per 3-4 sentences like his example of 92 words (as shown in his original post). Mind you, you'll be doing descriptions for 300 software programs. At 10 cents per description and image for 300 programs you'll only make $30. Equate Per Word What does that equate per word? Let's say on average each description of 3-4 sentences is close to 100 words as demonstrated in OP's original post, that's about 30,000 words to write in addition to creating screenshots. Not Even a Penny $30 into 30,000 words is approx $0.001 (not 1 cent but $0.001 of a cent - then that's not even accurate because part of that $0.001 is shared with the time you spend on doing 300 screenshots. Is Less than $1 Per Hour Worth It? How long will it take you to do 30,000 words? Let's say you can do 1000 words per hour, you'll spend close to 30 hours to make $30. When all is said and done, you would have made $1 per hour. Oh and remember, you'd have 300 screenshots on top of that. So you'll be spending more than 30 hours on this. So really not even making $1 per hour even at 1000 words per hour because you have to do the screenshots, too, to his satisfaction. And if you do under 1000 words per hour, then your hourly rate when calculated wouldn't even come close to $1, but much, much lower than that especially when including the time to do screenshots to his satisfaction. OP Redefining Low-Balling Now DP is known by many people online as a place to find cheap labor in countries outside of the USA. But for this guy to approach me, an American, with such a rate is just hilarious. I'd make more working at McDonald's. Additionally, I've never seen anyone on DP accept such a low rate per word; not even people who live in non-US countries. 30,000 words for $30 is beyond being a low-balling offer.
