In southwest China, Sichuan province, we had an earthquake of 7.8 in Richter magnitude approx 10 hours ago. Even Shanghai and Taiwan which are more than 1 thousand miles away suffer from the huge impact and energy blast; people living / working 10 stories and above can feel the shaking of the bulidings and just hurry to the ground. We are a university of more than 40 thousand students and staff located in central China, the city of Xi'an, about 400 miles from the quake source, County Wenchuan in Sichuan. After being forced to ground by the scary shock wave, we have gathered in open field for the last 10 hours and just got ourselves comforted in the dorms. Hopefully it's over but who knows..... We'd probably have to stay over tonight, you know, awake for the worst nightmare ever......

That's quite unfortunate! I will pray for the well-being of those who are displaced from their homes or those who have lost their loved ones!
