We've finally done it. Beating out some serious competition from our competitors, we've ranked #1 in Google for one of our primary terms. The "we" is RolePlayGateway Role Playing Games, an online gaming site with roleplaying forums and chat. Our keyword was role playing forums, a middle-level term with a decent amount of traffic. We beat out some of our competitors, RPG.net and Gaia Online, but by how much - I don't know. Our main method of SEO has been directory submissions, social bookmarking, and forum/blog posts and comments. A round of drinks to all! Cheers!
Congratulations. Let us know how that will effect your traffic (doesn't sound like a very competitive phrase, even tho it is roleplay forums not role play forums which has 45,800,000 competitors)
