Hello... Normally i would say NO... But being that the economy is the way it is then ... Its your choice laterz malcolm
Of course. You can add adsense in your web directory. But if you are planning to add it in your general web directory then its useless IMO otherwise little bit good if you want to add it in specific niche directory. DON.
True but adbrite also pays by impressions which any FREE directory should make a decent amount depending on traffic flow. thx malcolm
Yes you can add AdSense to your web directory but as Don pointed out, it is largely useless. This is because the click through ratio is very very low and so to your earnings. You need to have a serious amount of traffic to make AdSense worthwhile on a general directory.
Ditto. I would normally say not to bother too, but I am even thinking about putting it back on my biggest software site.
Sure but like everyone says you wont get any clicks from it,I put it in temporarily to track my traffic in a flash, but that just until I put in my own sites banners or something.
General directories won't have much effect on your adsense earnings. Why? - Your traffic is mostly robots and webmaster submitting sites - so no clicks from them. Your general directory has little content = unrelated ads = no clicks. Your general directory will get little content based hits from Google = no clicks. Your general directory already has loads of links in it - so why would someone click Adsense instead of it? Your general directory has few articles = Adsense has to be placed in headers and sidebars = low CTR. Adsense works best in content based niche sites, video sites etc. So unless you are going to operate a niche directory which is content rich and gets loads of search engine traffic I wouldn't bother.
But, there is a big but. When adsense is evaluating your page, it also MAY imply to crawl your page. Although Google bot has no business with adsense, IMO they seems connected in some way. Just my 2c
You can do whatever you want but many feel it cheapens the look and feel of your site. Choice is yours
You can put adsense... but its a pure waste of time. Will piss of paid submitters. A thing not to do on directories.
