Was Nightcrawlers not towing the Islamic line hard enough for your tastes? He was certainly heavily on the side of getting the people on Facebook to stop drawing Mohammad. Would you have been happier if he advocated violence?

What has really made Danish cartoons, and Draw Mohammad Day so popular is Muslim protesters threatening Westerners to give up freedom of speech rights, and abide by the blasphemy rules of Islam. The new Everybody Draw Mohammad Day - May 20th, 2010 as of today, already has over 18,000 followers.

Unfortunately, I don't believe the Muslims for Progressive Values are necessarily representative of the viewpoints of Muslims in America, as the MPV's don't believe in the segregation of men and women at mosques, they believe women should be allowed to be imams, they believe blasphemy laws are abhorrent, they support lesbian and gay rights, and support critical thinking and debate. The woman on the site, I exchanged a few email with her, and she seems to be a highly intelligent feminist with a great sense of humor. I liked her. It's nice to share some common ground -- but it's only with the "progressive" or "liberal" type Muslims. The rest, it seems we would never get along...

 

yeah right, Muslims in USA haven't exactly same view points as Muslims in middle east but if they want to change Islam as you mentioned, they have to bring new Islam and Quran I think! Quran mentined things so clearly and beside Soneh and Sharieh law.

 

I don't know if you're interested, but, another liberal Western Muslim voice is Irshad Manji. She has an interesting site, and you can download a free reformist Quran from her website. Unfortunately, she's had death threats. Although she still keeps going....

 

No, only Facebook is banned due to some religious matters. And the ban is going to uplift on 31st May.
No other social networking site has been banned.

I couldn't open her site but if she tried to change part of Quran then accourding to Shariah law her verdict is dead penalty because she is a Muslim. we have one Quran same for all the Muslim in the world word by word.
