I am now RATHER interested in the movie of the same name, and ironically enough I'd have no idea what it was about had it not been for this thread (which I have bashed on several occasions!!)

Why don't forcus on something more important and emergent? Such as the enviornment?

Huhuhu, this issue has been scaring me enough. & Now I find a poll, on a webmasters forum about it.
I don't really know what to think, aside from I really really REALLY don't wanna die yet..

It's all a bunch of BS. I did some indepth studies on it. The planets are not going to line up. That's just a runaway story that people are getting rich off of. The only real threat we have is getting hit by an astroid. They don't look for ones the size that hit Russia in the fifties. They are too small. If one that size hits near you you'll get about a 10 second warning. It'll be noisy coming through the atmosphere. They are actively watching for the "planet killers". Don't run up your credit cards thinking it's over in 2012. A new cycle just begins. Hopefully with people smart enough to realize that others get rich off publishing books,websites, and movies about a "doomsday" that's not going to happen.
