i personally think that's nonsense . I mean... that's what they said about the year 2000 . and what happened ? NOTHING ! believe what you want... but you're gonna live in fear your entire life.

 

Gonna have to say no. I'll be crying like a baby if I'm wrong and it is the end of days, but I've survived several "doomsdays" and I have no reason to believe I won't survive this one, despite what the conspiracy buffs have to say. I was confident of that before I had any evidence to back up my doubts, but I've read a few sites which completely debunk the whole fairy tale, with the most recent one being from Rational responders (can't post a link, as I'm not eligible to do that according to DP.)

 

I really hope not, but if it were to happen I would have to say it would come via solar flare or coronal mass ejection. IMO, we need to get all of our eggs out of one basket, get some colonies going off of Earth, that way if an extinction level event were to happen at least the human species will endure.

There's been hundreds of previous dates where "we would all die".

and the population will be reduced to 1/3 of the current....

The Mayan calendar doesn't say that the world will be destroyed but that there will be a big change. You should not be afraid. =)

It's not gonna happen. In many religions, there are things that are supposed to happen before the world ends, and those things haven't happened yet. For instance for me, the sun is supposed to start rising from the west instead of the east when the end is near. That hasn't happened yet. For others (and also for me), Jesus will return. That hasn't happened yet either. So no, definitely not.

 

I doubt it, no one can predict the apocalypse.

I don't believe this. I have heard a few times that the world is going to end soon but nothing happens.

 

Whatever has to happen will happen! Why think over it and lose peace of mind and sleep!

2012 is anyway little far off and I do not believe it is wise to deliberate on things which are not in our control!
