I hate this whole 2012 myth. The world is no more likely to end on 12/21/12 than it was on 1/1/00 and as it was on 9/11/01 and as as it was on 8/8/08 or 6/6/06 or any other day. The thing is that the calendar in question is cyclical, and frankly it only needed to go so far before it restarted and the new cycle carries on from that point. There are a few galactic events that may coincide with that approximate date, but that has nothing to do with the calendar.
