I don't think the world is going to end anytime soon. If it was they would be making a really big deal about right now. It's always silly reports from weird people saying that the world is going to end.

I doubt it, and if it was this serious, then it would be all over the news.

    I don't believe in it....
If it's true, what can we do to change the situation?
We can only enjoy our lives nowadays. Right?

Lots of things Nostradamus predicted did not happen. Also, if you read his book its quite funny to see how people have related things to whatever he has written. Apart from this it has been seen that the later copies of Nostradamus books have lot of things not mentioned in his previous ones. Its an old game played by people to earn $$$$. Such things are usually made public to gain popularity and make some money. Noone can predict what can happen and how the world will end unless it has a proper scientific reason. Even tommorow a meteor as big as Earth's size can crash on this planet killing us all...why do we have to wait till 2012

The first post is pretty interesting, I never thought anyone had an explanation like this for why the world is going to end in 2012. Let's hope for all of us that this is not true.

Didn't read the entire thread BUT...

    The information is very convincing.

Has anyone read the book Apocalypse 2012?
Very good book, I'm halfway through and it proves the points given in the first post.

Wow, all of that is very scary, but highly unlikely. Humans make lots and lots of mistakes, and every single one of these probably stemmed from a lightly founded rumor, and then the rumor just grew. If we were so certain about this, we'd be doing something.

Why humans want to see the world's end this much? I never understand it. First they said these kind of things for 2000 and now this. And then it'll be 2020 cause of the numbers :) Thanks for the interesting informations but I don't believe it.

was that the whole Y2K thing :p

no one knows when the world will end (though it looks like North Korea is trying to speed up the process) and to say otherwise is pure nonsense IMO!

Y2K was much different if I remember correctly. They didn't program electronics to cope with the change of Melenium. From 1999 - 2000. I could be wrong but that's how I remember it.

    I'm sure it was both.
The Y2K computer aspect but then I'm sure there were a bunch who thought aside from the computer thing, it was all going down at the start of the new millennium!
