We advertise your site on Myspace!

I know that their are alot of people that are under 17 on Myspace. I am not sure about the service. And what kind of messages are being sent to these people. I do know myspace is big and is a great site. I do have an account with them. And so do my two teenagers under the age of 17. I also know that Myspace has been a subject of porn videos being sent to peoples accounts and what not.

 

LOL, a bit harsh but absolutely correct. This is business. Serious business for a lot of us. I've been looking for a way to get the word out about my new sites for a while but for a reasonable price. This seems to meet both requirements but until it's proven, the fact that the guy has personal problems only makes me more wary.

yfs1, I know (personally) a lot of older people (30+) that have a myspace. It may be majority teens but there is an adult market out there as well.

 

If you target the older market succesfully with this service, please post it as I would be interested. (Obviously there are no stats back even for the younger market so its a bit of a guess - Don't know if most users just ignore it, etc etc)

There will be the age option included in the next week. A new package with age will be included but i guess i can only send like 100-200(it may change) messages to all users(online or offline) because if i send it to all onlines the number would not match and i don't want that. I am just interested in hearing about any experiences with this. I have 3 video sites for myspace users and this kind of advertising sounds perfect for them.

 

Sorry but that sounds expensive - unless I didn't understand the business model ?
you charge about 10 cents per message. Let's say you're very lucky
and have a 25% click thru rate, that means a CPC of 40 cents !

Adwords / Overture sound cheaper to me

If this helps anyone when i go in my college library i have to look away in shame because 50% of the computers are on myspace. Even good looking girls go on it instead of going outside and ... well actually talking to the people on the next building that are also on myspace

Ditto... I noticed a slight increase of traffic, but I don't see any special referrals or anything out of the ordinary so I don't even know if it was caused by this advertising or not.

 

Do you use awstats or something like that because i had the time to send 10 messages for myself and received 5 hits from that Thanks for the feedback.

 

awstats is not updated in real time, how could I know? I am using mvtracker
