Nope, tell them you can only show a watermarked version. If they insist, make sure they have a good reputation (iTraders) and show the logo in a small size. Also, never keep the background white, transparent, black or any solid color (if showing without watermark). If they want to see how it looks on they're site, take a screenshot of they're and fit the logo on it, watermark the logo and then show. This provides a 90% possibility that it cannot be ripped off. Unless the buyer is good at photo editing and take your logo.

And to stop this even more, post the logo at your portfolio, so you have copyrights to it. If you ever see your logo used which was NOT sold, and you have proof that it is yours (like posted long before on DP and your portfolio) then you can file a DMCA agaisnt the website. Send the DMCA to him, his host, etc...

As a designer myself, this all is what i do. Hope this helps :)

Use transparent watermark, not a solid one. And do not put it on the corner of your image, it will be easily cropped and removed.

Put the watermark on the middle of your image. If one watermark is not enough, put two. If two are not enough, put three etc.

If the "buyer" complaints about "bad on presentation", tell him it's your right to protect your image, if he doesn't want to, leave him.
Because you use transparent watermark however.

After you watermarked your image, put yourself on the bad guy's position.
Can you remove the watermark easily? For example if the letter is too thin, too small, etc.

    Good luck.

A very light watermark i would use, so its visible but doesn't really affect the users viewing the image .

you can set the image in CSS so to avoid the "save as" feature in most browsers.

then you can use PHP, or other anti-hotlinking tricks.

in any case, the leechers can just make a screenshot of the whole screen so
there's really nothing apart watermarks to protect our work.

if it can be seen, it can be stolen, period.

and watermark will not help you in some cases : they will still be able to steal you the idea behind your photo or your illustration.

there are some lame photogs for instance who are specialized in "cloning" works made by famous photographers.

recently a painter have been sued for using photos made by a guy working for Reuters, then also the Obama logo as well similar case...

    Three easy things.

    1. Watermark your images.
    2. Disable right clicks.
    3. Disable viewing of images indepedently in the browser.

The no right click Is good for fending off newbiew to web design so up agents a experianced web designer the no right click script dosnt work very well. But I have found away around this! i have found a combanation of the no right click script plus another(I am not telling you witch the second Is) can stop almost all in its tracks. But not recamended with public image host. If you have an images host to where you can incode your images site url then It Is possable to stop all even the most experianced web designer. if non of this is avalabul to you then all I can say is tuff luck. Sorry If i am no help.

There are a few tactics you can use, Please DONT try to use the "No Right Click" javascripts, They DONT work.

    1) A Light Watermark - Most legit customers do not mind this as long as it is removed after the purchase is made.
    2) I have seen people embed the image into a "Flash" Video with a floating watermark that moves around the image. This prevents people from using a screen capture program.
    3) Provide a very low quality thumbnail
