Hello I had an idea about a new site that I believe would be a great hit like the one million dollar page.Unfortunately I am afraid that someone with better seo and marketing skills might steal my idea while it's new... So I would like to ask you what would you do if you were in my situation.For example where would you submit your site(big blogs,stumble upon ,directories etc) Thanks in advance

Well, is you have afraid, you can not do anything , on Internet nothing is 100% safety, As said Nike, Just do It! start to run, if someone stolen your idea, you try to do something different, improve your idea, etc etc etc... I would do a strong PR campaign. Submit a press release to prweb ($500), prleap, and pr.com. Also submit a modified (with a local spin) PR to many of your local newspapers (including the closet major newspaper). Make sure the site is professionally designed and the idea is unique (I can review both if you like). Consider having the PR professionally written. Also submit a lead to techcrunch and the top 10 US newspapers. Do the standard directory submission and social bookmarking, just because they are cheap and easy. You'll want to create as much buzz as possible. Also, if you can afford it, try some payperpost or review me. I didnt have much success with PPP, but you never know... it could have just been my site. Best of luck, and keep us updated.
well since the site will be in the same philosophy like the one million dollar page (People will pay and donate money for something really stupid) I don't think i can write any articles about it.. unfortunately i don't think i can afford the budget for such a campaign . And I don't think that the milliondolarpage guy did something like that I mainly want all the free(or cheap) ways to make the site quickly popular It will be something really catchy like the guy on the youtube who asked people to telephone him.
if its a content based site. I suggest you get tons of content before launching. If its a user based site, try to get a good beta user group of innvited only people and then launch public.
Is it a Pixel Ad site of Pixel Ad sites advertising other pixel ad sites? In all seriousness, it's not that easy to just steal an idea...someone has to believe in it enough to make it happen. If you want to share the idea with us and get an honest take on it, I am sure you'll get plenty of opinions here on DP. Otherwise, you'll get the same old advice: article writing, directory submission, link building, etc.
no no its not pixel selling. I will just have a really good background story(like the million dollar page guy wanted to raise money for his college) and people will mainly donate money for this cause...and I will give back something in return .The milliondollarguy gave pixels I will give something else which will be something really funny,innovating and totally different. The site will have no content , no articles no nothing . Just the main page with my story and the paypal button which people will use to send me money. I am sorry that I can't tell you more. I will when the site is launched probably in less than a month
