What are some ways to prevent people from stealing articles off your blog? Please feel free to share some tips and sources, as long as they follow DP's rules and are ofc legal.

    You can't. :D

You can trace who is stealing your articles by using Copyscape. But you can't stop them from copying it.

Put as many links to your other posts in the articles as possible. Stealers will try to avoid your articles then.

You can only do something after they do it (like file a DMCA)

And even if they blindly steal, they'll usually keep the links and link back to you anyway! Double KO.

There isn't anything you can do to prevent stealing, but sometimes you can have the stolen content taken down. Like, if it's located on some free hosting service, you can politely email the owner and tell them about the theft.

You could put the articles in PDF that will discurage 90% of the people from taking them. becouse most people don't have PDF editors.

if they are stealing via RSS you can block it via .htaccess. Find their website/server IP and block it.

if they do manual copy paste then nothing you can do.

However, you can report to google, google may bock their site. If they cannot get any traffic from google then nothing to worry.

Proceeding legally may take some time.

Nothing much you can do when someone copies content
My first page serp homepage is copied and posted to some 1000+ article directories, i got the user banned in major directories and articles removed, but it is a tedious and long process, cannot do much about other directories, but of course google still considers that content mine and ranks me well for that page
Some idiot thinking that since my that page ranks well if he copies the content then he too can rank well :D well people need to grow up sometimes, they are sometimes kids trying their hands at online money making the wrong way

You can not do a lot about that and in fact it is not really worth bothering about a lot :)

As noted seed your content with your own links. Most theft of content is scraped and they pull your links with the scrape.

There are no ways to stop people from copying. Although you can file a DMCA complaint with Google.
