So, I am writing an email to a client explaining some basic stuff to incorporate to have better exposure. I changed it to get some insight. What do you think is missing? If we have a solid article that doesnt directly promote your services but is a really great source of info, we can pitch it to other sites as an article that will benefit them, submit it to sites like Digg, and Stumble Upon, and see if people will help promote it. We don't need to worry about keywords, just great quality, and it will attract visitors and bloggers. This of course is 100% for getting links, and visitors. We still need to reach out to the community, and make it known that we are a valuable resource for information on our topic. If we are seen all over the industry as a good source, it is impossible for people not to follow us. Forums, blog comments, and providing useful information on social media (facebook groups / myspace groups) will do this. Also anywhere else that people in the industry have been speaking. They are out there, and they are being used. We just need to be the authority that is engaging with everyone. If we provide info the right way people will naturally follow like they have with many other sites out there. It is the sort of thing where we can't expect people to promote us, and comment on our sh**, until we have done the favor first. If you enter a search for a popular keyword in the industry and they seem to get alot of attention, thats the place for us..... about.com webmd.com soberrecovery.com (The client operated an addiction site, at www.thelastresortpa.com) and other bloggers in the industry is a great place. Almost always, a blogger has comments enabled, and there is a place to enter your website. Enter your name normally, your opinion normally, and if we have a page / article that is closely related, that's not too promotional we can mention it, AFTER we have established a decent relationship. They didnt understand at first that we cannot make all of these outlets our free advertising source. This is why I tried to make it clear again what the objective is. Hope this helps and tell me what else should be here. PS: My marketing site below, is about 1 month old ( I was strictly in house for 4 years). So in other words don't judge by PR thats just not right. PR has nothing to do with rankings, which will be a completely other post for everyone that watches the green juice bar when they visit a website.
