I was wondering what you guys think I should do with my website to make some extra profit such as something to add onto it. I just started putting the finishing touches on the beginning version of my website http://designsforfree.com in which I set up a directory to put links to free designs for joomla, wordpress, myspace, and will be adding more categories soon but I was wondering what things do you think I could add onto the website to make it somewhat more profitable as I think it is a domain name that is pretty good and I think there is more room for expansion on the website but need some help brainstorming on this.
Contextual advertising like Google Adsense, Bidvertiser, Adbrite. You could put up banner ads for affiliate programs from commission junction, shareasale, etc. You could offer expedited listing; meaning that if they pay $5, for example, their site is listed within 1 day rather than 2 weeks.
Yeah I am going to look into that more but I was wondering if anyone thought of anyway to make the website better as far as maybe something else I could do to expand the website from just a directory. The main thing on it is going to be the directory but maybe featuring something else on the main page. Just looking for any suggestions or ideas.
Maybe have articles on how to implement the free content the others are offering? Have you checked the Directories section of DP? If you dig through some of the older threads, there's tons of good ideas in there.
Yeah I guess my question wasn't put 100 percent the way I wanted it because I reread it but what do you think I need to add to the website to keep it still very basic but maybe keep a few people coming back? Or do you think quality links to good sites will be enough?
My first tougths: Your 3 major links are repeated Why not put the 4 links at the bottom (home etc) at the top right corner. I would put adsense links in the right column. Best of luck.
