Ways to increase twitter followers ?

I'm going to add soon a button to tweet my updates and I'm going to register an account for my website too. I know how do it as is simple, but...

What's the best way to have followers? Besides publish great content, periodically, etc. Can someone share any tips?

 

Well Twitter has disabled all tools online (buzzom and etc), you can only buy tools for $150 , $250 and etc now... I might make an ebook on how to get 10,000 followers IF it works, but doubt it will.

 

A very quick way to gain lots of followers is to simply follow lots of other people on Twitter - 60 - 70% of them will follow you back. And re-tweeting attention-grabbing stuff such as top ten lists, 101 ways to do something, how to <insert something here>, etc., helps a lot.

Add a link to your twitter on your site and or blog. Artificial follower generation methods are scams. REAL followers have value, followers from other methods such as follow trains are worthless.

 

Explain your followers what is retweeting and encourage them to retweet your links.

On a funny note, if you are crazy enough, you can put your twitter ID on your vehicle. This will work because, people like to get connected with others who are in the same locality. And you can tweet and start conversation about some local events and start sharing your knowledge. Keep your security aspects in mind. Some people may use twitter to get lot of your personal info and may use it to harm you.

 

Don't quite agree with that. No offence, I never follow back people who follow me unless they have some useful tweet.

 

Use some other service to schedule one tweet per day of something useful. Famous quotes work well. Jokes might work, etc. That way people are getting value from you whether you are posting stuff or not.

It sometimes helps to have some people following you (social proof). So you might want to follow a bunch of people to try to get some of them to follow you back. Once you get a few thousand followers, you can probably unfollow them. Many will unfollow you, but if that leaves you with 1k followers, it puts you in a good position to look authoritative.

Contests can be useful if you structure them right.

Well, Twitter is cracking down hard on most Follow sites like Buzzom, Twitterkarma and all, and now its become much difficult to add followers. Still, you could start a tweet like : " The 6th person to Retweet this could get an Autographed copy of the ABC album by XYZ!" or similar tweets, and it could spread virally ! Or, keep following people and you would get some good amount of follow backs if you've around 500-600 followers .

The best way to increase followers is just retweet what other people are tweeting because when you retweet what they tweet so they will follow you and also retweet your tweets.

There is not any miracle way to increase twitter followers. If you are really want to increase followers then follow these instructions:
Tweet the meaningful content which is useful for your targeted users.
Follow your theme based user which are be very interested in your services.
Make some useful list.
Try to keep online and reply to our followers questions.

Follow relevant Twitter accounts related to your niche using Twellow.com then follow those who have equal or almost equal numbers of followers and following. They will surely follow you back. That's what I do and I find it so effective.
