Low CTRs can be the result of two things: 1) low ad interest to the people visiting the page, and 2) inferior ad placement and format. Low ad interest can result from 1) ads not relevant to content, 2) content (and ads) not of interest to visitors (why did they come?), and 3) content is so compelling/satisfying/distracting that visitors have no reason or desire to click on ads for addtional information, even though the ads may be relevant.
I would not be as brave to post that on my site... May as well say "I earn money from those ads on the left, you know what to do " Anyways... Found your site hard to navigate.. looking at your web stats, do many people get past the first page? I would move the menu to the top and things like "join AdSense" and "get Firefox" to the bottom. Write about things that are in the news, people search for that stuff. Get your friends to link to you. Give people a reason to return (daily links to games or interesting stories)
the first thing is to think about how visitors can find your site ? by search engine ? or other method ~ your web site address will not appear in visitors mind if can't not find from any place ~ and if you already have visitors ,you need to think about if your content meet their requirement ?
Do f(x) = Ae^kt Hehe try buying advertising on related sites It works for me. Make sure they are very related and your banner is catchy.
Digg.com I went from 1200 visitors a day to 25,000 a day over-night when my site was listed and became #1 on digg. From there I found myself as #1 for del.icio.us... Talk about backlinks... every little blog out there was sending me traffic after that.
