Getting quality backlinks from good sites, related to your topic will be good.

You should concentrate more on SEO and as soon as possible. Because you may lost your that good position if some of your competitor start before you.

 

I think more backlinks from high PR sites will help your url to be the top URL as well as quality contents on your sites is also helpful

 

For article submission - you will need to write an article first (you can't just add a link unfortunately).

One of the most popular is ezinearticles.com. If my memory serves me right, you can write a minimum of 250 words (which isn't much). Just put a short article together, make sure it is on a topic related to you site, and in the 'author/signature' area add a brief summary of your website along with a link.

You can also take that same article and submit it on as many article directories as you like.
