No, there are other factors that go into ad ranking in the content network. Here they are. - The ad group's CPC bid or, if content bids are enabled, its content bid. - The ad's past performance on this and similar sites. - The relevance of the ad's landing page. Limit keywords in adgroups! This increases ctr by decreasing impressions. If fact, for adsense, I'll use only one keyword phrase per group. This way I can tell which keyword converts. And in a week or so, my ad moves up a couple spots. This way is a lot of work, but it does help. Side Note: But before I do this, I create an exhaustive negative keyword list. Then, if you really want to move up on the list, create a site targeted campaign using your successful content network adgroups keywords.
Thats actualy exactly what I have done. I had them all in seperate groups and pulled out the low converting keywords. I then added all the good keywords into the same ad group and it jumped up the traffic a decent amount. Guess ill see if I get a better CTR and other stuff up to get into that 2-4 rank target I have
So less keywords would mean more options to match, right? Or more keywords means more options? Less keywords would get me ranked higher and more traffic?
