Way too high CTR...

    Hi all,

I have a blog at blogger that I maintain now and then. Its just a simple blog, and there has been no Adsense clicks to date although its about 4 or 5 months old.

Today after updating, 2 hours later I see a huge CTR in my Adsense account which I think is coming from that blog...87.5% CTR.

Now, I never told anyone about this blog so I think some really dic*head has clicked my ads alot. What do you make of 8 views and 7 clicks?? That person likely saw my blog at the updated list (Blogger has a 24/7 list of updated blogs) and gone to my blog and clicked my ads...

I've told the Adsense team already, but what do you think? Is it really invalid like I think it is? Or maybe its really valid, and this person was awww so nice...cmon

Yes I also experienced a situation like this some days back in one of my directories

I have a cvery low clickthrough rate(one click per day)

suddenly it rose to 33 clicks per day and the following day also I got 35 clicks

I think there may be some problem with adsense stats?

Freewebspace, what did you do after you saw the very high CTR? Do you think it looks fishy? I just think now and then some jerk comes along who knows about Adsense and want to get the webmaster in trouble...online pranksters, you know

I wouldnt worry about it right now.
Google are going to have to accept some click fraud. If this happens on 1 day in a year they're not going to pull your site.
Waht you should do is get some free stats on your site so you can see where your user(s) are coming from.
If you have several different users and a high CTR you need not worry

I do hope Google understands what may have happened, I asked them to investigate because I dont think there is a way to track the clicks in Blogger right?

That's just one of the big disadvantage of Blogger, am I right?

This should be in the adsense section.

I'm faced the same thing in the past, just email adsense and they'll make a note of it and thank you for reporting it.

Also you should wait for couple of hours ... if you have adlink units and one person opens it he can click on couple of ads ....

First of all, you shouldn't worry about this as you have reported it to adsense team.
Secondly, this should be in the adsense section.

Maybe somebody attacks your website with clicks.
