    Yah, only 2,343 guests online...

Excellent. This is why your server isn't responding well ^_^

    Congrats!

The digg was removed because the server stopped responding; users (not me though) reported it as a bad link.

I could not get on the forum for about 20 minutes, I figured something like that happened. I'm certain traffic is just going to keep increasing... I hope the new servers come soon.

I believe Shawn's got like a $20k dedicated server infratructure in place. If that can't handle a Digg, there won't be many sites that would, right? I mean, what if (hypothetically speaking) :D my site that's on a couple of bucks hosting plan with GoDaddy was dugg?? It won't take long for the site to go down, would it?

I mean, it depends on what you Digg too!

If it is some stupid subject no one will click on it!

Depends on what the site was doing... if it was just static content (no MySQL and no PHP) it probably would be fine. If my servers were *just* doing the forum, it would also be fine (they are pretty beefy and well configured)... but they are ALSO doing the ad network and geo visitors stuff, so they already do 1,000 dynamic http hits (PHP) per second and 1,500 SQL queries per second *normally*... so a front page digg is adds enough to throw it "over the edge".

How much is that geo visitors addition draining you, DP?
