    hey guys,

i have just bought a new site, and with the site the guy said he gets most of his visitors from youtube because of his videos. The thing is the videos are clearly not owned by him but i dont have access to his account to take them down incase anyone complains.

well my question is, should i care? because there's nothing i can do if anyone complains and im the one who's receiving all the benefits from them being up.

**EDIT sorry for posting this in wrong section i thought copyright was a good spot to put it in because its about the copyrighting of videos**

If the owner of the videos complains, youtube is going to take them down. If you had gotten someone else to put up the videos, you would clearly be responsible. You can't be held responsible if someone randomly puts up videos with a link to your site, however, the copyright holder is going to assume that you were responsible. Since you purchased the site, you must have contact details on who the person is, so be prepared to turn this information over in the event (probably unlikely) of a lawsuit. I would also assume that the purchase date and transfer of the domain is going to postdate the uploading of the videos, so that would further support your case that you were not responsible.
