Need to watermark the image to protect from copying. What's the best way to do it in photoshop version 7 or paintshop?
It depends how much want to detract from the image. The easiest way to do this is put make yourself a seal, or even just a large text message (image copyrighted or something), center it in the picture and set the layer at a low opacity.
In photshop, I supposed you have a logo or you are going to use the text tool to add a caption as watermark. For few pictures, you can do it manually as follow: 1. open the image you want to watermark 2. open your logo image, it's better if the logo as transparencies but it's not critical. 3. with both images opened and visible on screen drag the logo on top of you target image, this will create a new layer. 4. set the blending mode of this new layer containing the logo to something that looks good to you (multiply, soft light and so on) and adjust the opacity if necessary. all those command are at the top of the layer palette (blending modes are in the drop down menu that says normal). 5. save as or save for web, you are done If you don't have a logo image just follow the same steps but this time use the text tool to write what ever you need and set blending and opacity to you pleasure. If you have a lot of images to watermark you need to create an action, quoting from photoshop help: Just Google for watermark action photoshop and there are plenty of tutorials.
