Okay after just under 2 weeks.... here is the final... Looks like we are maintainng for right now in Google as around 32-40 for our main search term... a LONG cry from not being listed at all.

Looks like we are maintaining in Yahoo at 21 for our main search term... This moved up quite a bit as well.

We are not listed in MSN at all however have gained almost 4000 backlinks in MSN. we are awaiting them to update their search engine as well.... We will see where that leads us in about 6 weeks.

We have gained around 10-100 backlinks in yahoo depending on whose tool you look at or if you look at linkdomain in yahoo.

We have not gained any backlinks in G but then again, we moved up in rank 960+ spots.

(Please do not take this as complaining... I am in no way complaining at all.... I am thankful for where we are at.)

Okay, it looks as if we are sandboxed....... Moved up too quickly perhaps....
We moved up and up and up and up and up.... and now we are stuck at between 32-41 in Google for our keyword phrase (depending on which datacenter you are looking at. I sure wish Google would put numbers by the search results like yahoo does)(A far far far cry from not being listed at all and we still see traffic from it being there)

We are also stuck in Yahoo between 21 and 25.

We are not listed in MSN at all but strangely enough we have over 5400 backlinks in MSN right now. I don't think MSN pays any attention to the anchor text in the backlinks whatsoever. We are not listed for either one of our keyword phrases in MSN.

I am going to lower the weight back down to around 9000 for the one keyword phrase and not touch it for a week or so. We will see if that helps any. Watch out... it looks as if Google Filters kick in at right about the 30 mark.

Look at you on site and on page optimization. This could be holding you back in MSN, Yahoo and Google for your primary KW. Try tweaking these a bit.

well, I was incorrect. We have now moved to position 21 in Google and 19 in yahoo for our main search term.

We have gained 300 back links in yahoo
    Google has not updated yet.

We have over 6000 back links in MSN however we are awaiting them to update because currently we do not show up at all in MSN for our search term.

Well, I wonder if it has some kind of precedence. Here is why.

When we started the network, we had 160 backlinks in Google and we were 12 or 15 for our allinanchor and now we are #5. However our link:www.mydomain.com has went down to 142 links.

    Just a thought.

Hmm, that seems to be partially true... however when I use it on my domain there are quite a few pages that show up that actually DO have links to me, but aren't listed when I do link:mydomain.com . Using link| certainly shows more than just the backlinks, but it also exposes some backlinks that the standard method doesn't show.

Thanks for correcting me, though ;)

    >our link:www.mydomain.com has went down to 142 links

Totally ignore the backlinks in Google. What Google choose to show in its small random sample have no relationshiop to what Google know about and use.

I am willing to bet that as my website was climbing the rank so was the number of links in link|www.mydomain.com. That is just a theory but that is what I will be using from now on to check for links.

"Totally ignore the backlinks in Google"

Completely agree. Google link: has become useless. I can't believe anywhere cares what it says. Use MSN or atleast yahoo.

Okay, it is official. I am watching the links within the link|www.mydomain.com drow in leaps and bounds and my rank within the search engines seems to grow right along with it while the link:www.mydomain.com stays at 142.

Thank you for the tip Birdie.

I will be using that from now on.
