We all know those watch[insert hip cool tv show here]online type websites. Just wondering if I was to set one up that just linked to the various places to watch new episodes of tv shows, would there be any legal implications for me?
Sorry if this is a bit of a stupid thread!

    Be careful.

TVeps got shutdown for linking to episodes.
Allabout-sp got most of there links removed by there host.

but alot of the others are ok.

You're legaly allowed do that but its a different story if your host etc doesnt let you.

It isn't illegal for those type of sites as long as your not hosting them. As Gnome said your host may not like you doing it so make sure they are ok with it.

it depends on each country, some country has a stricter copyright law which would state that even linking to a copyright material is a violation of the copyright law

nickstan is correct. In the US it is illegal to link to infringing material. It would appear that it is illegal in the UK as well (given the raid of tv-links).

Hmm, I'm in Ireland at the moment, I'll probably leave it anyway, not worth all the hassle! Cheers for all the help :)

Do you mean a site like? http://joox.net/

There are ways round it but its probably too much hassle for what its worth.
