Getting link building advice from Matt Cutts is like getting a ride from an 80 year old granny. You might get to where you want to go, eventually, but when you see how slowly she drives and the long route she takes to get to the destination you'll probably want to pull your hair out.
I really liked the Long tail concept he told. When I get few pop up messages on my Windows OS stating some errors and when I type the same in google,I get to see some sites which actually have the answers to it but they dont have a higher PR. Thanks for the post
I will say that it makes sense to take anything Cutts (and Google) says publicly with a grain of salt. For them, it makes sense to say things that will help to combat spam, so things like relevancy which seem important if you listen to Cutts, has no (or almost none) result on the quality of links when we actually test it.
