They bought a website from me for $5600 about 2 hours ago an during the transaction I got a call from pay pal and it was a fraudulent charge. Godaddy and paypal are both working on getting my domain back. Luckily I found out before I lost all of the files for my website and databases. I haven't logged into this account for over a week and just so happened to do a search on my name and this post was there. I am sorry you've been scammed, but I assure you that the original owner of Rooket Media (me) had nothing to do with it. Do not know what you are trying to insinuate but like I said, that is not me. I always do name searches for my websites. I own multiple websites and yes I perform domain name searches for them, not for any reason to find negative information -- its just common SEO practice for me. This post just so happens to come up #2 when searching for Rooket Media -- so I clearly couldn't overlook it. I think it is totally unfair that I have a negative mark on iTrader now, due to the fact the OP clearly was in an IM communication with this guy -- didn't do any business on DP whatsoever. If the OP did their homework and investigated more, they should have asked that they send a message via DP. That would have never happened and the OP would have known this was a scam. Anyone can pose to be someone else on cyberspace, but it is up to you to do the homework to avoid scams. This has never happened to me, so I don't blame the OP and its a shame someone is scamming like this (especially using my name). Rooket Media is associated with a website which contains all my contact information (phone, address, email)...I could have simply been contacted and I would have told the OP I have no idea what he is talking about. Even contacting me via DP would be a way to validate this. But now I must suffer with a negative iTrader because the OP didn't do ANY homework before going through with a large transaction. It's unfair in my book. I truly feel iTrader has been abused in this case, as iTrader reviews are for when you do business on DP, not when you do business elsewhere and get scammed. I had no post on DP for an original thread or communication with the OP at all (on DP or elsewhere). I am sorry my name was used in the scam, but t is not my fault the OP had a bad deal.

Mark, I swear to you it wasn't me. But I did just check my account and seen the messages in the "sent items". It seems they deleted any messages in the "inbox" since that is the first place I'd look. This is crappy. I apologize it seems you did everything and someone simply exploited my account -- I had no idea. Well to each is own. I understand your frustration and reasoning for the iTrader...I'll have to live with it, cause it is justifiable in light of things. I don't share my password with anyone so I do not know how the scammer got my password, but I did change the password and will hope this will not happen to anyone else. If my account gets exploited again then I will delete my account altogether from DP. Thanks for the follow-up and I do apologize for someone scamming you with my name and exploiting my account.
Can a Mod please tell us something about this? If an account gets hacked... well, many others can follow, or not? IP check etc can be done?
I would be interested in something as this as well, especially if any information can clear my name. Earlier I tried looking for a way to contact DP, but there is no obvious contact information for the forum board. Does anyone know how to contact DP?? Or the correct mod (username) who manages these type of issues?
The person on MSN has the database for all of the members on my site we have reset the password to all accounts on our site but the scammer says he is going to use there email and passwords he recovered from it to mess with there accounts paypal and emails and blame it on me. I sent an email to all of my users hopefully they see it asap I also got black mailed out of $50 to get my domains back. If anyone is interested in the 75 pages of convo I have saved on this PM me

Right now I have, Paypal, Godaddy, WIPO, & Local Police all going over the information. They have came up with a few clues which I do not want to release on a public forum. but I will keep it posted as the information is released.
@marktw69 Please clear my name on this forum once they have given you information that it did not originate from me and was a well thought out scam. I am a victim in this also. Thank you.
If it proves to not be you, which I hope its not I have no problem at all helping clear your name. In till then we need to find out what happened and why.
