Hey guys, I have been debating whether or not I should display a larger campaign here at DP, well anyways after 3 hours of the videos progress I have decided to share this publicly. The video has been set up on a new account. The video is from a TV program. Copyright may be a concern. The link is : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nv0cALYV18 It's a classic and I think these guys can be huge, so bugger it, I have given them some credit for the video. Watch me market this to the top of the "Most Viewed" videos in Youtube. I have 48 hours to get there, currently 3 hours into campaign with over 5000 plays/views. Thanks, Jason (P.S my target is to get 100 000 plays within 48 hours - if it doesn't get removed for copyright infringement)
This is just taking a show from TV. There'll probably be the same video on YouTube somewhere else. Your video must be unique. This won't get 100,000 plays in 48 hours. It's not funny/unique and so it won't go viral. I'm not going to go raving to my friends about that video... I'll be incredibly impressed if you reach your target. And if you do, I want to hire you.
Yeah, there is one similar to this. Oh c'mon, I thought it was classic, I actually liked it. Okies we have a deal, there's only one thing that will stop me and that's the copy right infringement.
It's definitely funny...no doubt. But I think the issue has been raised that it's not original -- that could hurt you. It sure will be interesting to see how far you take this. Good luck.
I don't think a live link to YouTube and "copyright infringement" talks is a good idea. You're begging for your video to be removed from YouTube! Change the link a bit
Hmm.. I've just checked back on this thread and have become very suspicious of your promotion methods. You have disabled the "statistics and data" tab underneath the video which shows what sites are linking to your video. If you get 100,000 views it can't all be organic or direct traffic. If I'm going to believe you, you'll have to make it viewable or else I'd just assume something suspicious.
Yeah I know, but I can't hide the fact if this promotion goes well and gets noticed anyway - as it's going to be seen by 1000s of people. Well so be it, I don't wish to share all my sites with everyone here at DP, obviously by clicking sites sending clicks you can view all my stes, and not all my sites are safe for work, it is a deliberate decision. Anyway : Added: May 18, 2008 Views: 24,777 Ratings: 4 Responses: 0 Comments: 7 Favorited: 2 times #52 - Most Discussed (Today) - Entertainment - Australia #66 - Most Viewed (Today) - Australia #97 - Most Viewed (Today) - New Zealand #27 - Most Viewed (Today) - Entertainment - Australia #33 - Most Viewed (Today) - Entertainment - New Zealand #66 - Top Rated (Today) - Entertainment - Australia Might have to turn up the juice, I think that I am about 10 000 views shy from where I want to be.
I did a COPY of Tom Cruise Scientogy and got over 390,000 views. Funny thing is the cult got the same one deleted for copyright but not mine. Note, I had a Wii offer there for a while first. Check it out (Tom is really whacked): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48_twUMgDkg
Yeah it's starting to trickle in slowly, I haven't had the chance to boost the campaign yet, I am still a little behind the expectations. But thanks everyone, I think it's over 30 000 plays now and raising some nice arguments and feuding, the ratings are still above 4 out of the 5. I wont delete any comments yet, I want the arguing to continue - this will raise the interest by previous viewers and those who left a comment may return. It's also around the 24 hour mark and the natural Youtube traffic should increase as the honors climb. I can't rely on natural traffic from Google either as the topic of the video isn't a popular one.
You have 30,000 views and 10 comments and 3 ratings and you don't show where your visits are coming from. I am deeply suspicious. Also, your website is PR1. Surely if you have the ability to create 30,000 unique hits to a youtube video you might be able to build a few backlinks. I ran my site for just over a month before it was PR2. What qualifys as a "view" on YouTube? Do they have to watch a certain amount of the vid. It looks to me like 29,000+ of these "views" are bouncing, which would suggest some sort of blackhat redirecting and disguised linking.
He is using Youtube AUTOMATER. I generated over 1 million views for my music video before it got taken down... http://www.tubeautomator.com/ Nothing special
You don't have to be so critical, I am not using any black hat techniques, I am simply using the big Youtube players techniques on a smaller scale. My website that I have linked has only just been updated, I placed the link to is to measure the traffic and effectiveness for generating traffic - it was previously a simple site where I would provide my service for Youtube plays. The length of time needed to register as a view is determined by the length of the video - I think, Youtube is always changing the way it works.
No I am not, Youtube would realize this surely, no bots or software my friend .... but I may have a look at that bot .....
There is a few guides around with similar techniques, spamming the actual video on profiles, comments, etc. - usually on MySpace, then there's also various video walls, then there's also embedding and tagging web sites - one tip to raise views there is to hit your page with a alexa boost type bot, it wont effect or increase plays on Youtube but it can have a positive effect on your video (rank) embedded within those sites. But nope .... I am not using those techniques, I have used a few social tags etc. like the ones on Youtube - bookmarks. I have started the boost to the plays now, not a huge boost - but enough to have some impact.
You have very low numbers of ratings and comments for the amount of "plays" your video has, doesn't seem too legit...
Oh trust me they will come naturally, what the majority of people do not understand is that the plays from embeds on any other website also register as a play .... once the Youtube community start watching the video then the comments will come. But to gain the natural Youtube traffic you have to gather a large amount of plays - enough to gain honors.
