    Heya,

Nowadays i see a ton of these "Watch TV Online" or "Watch X-Serie Online" sites and i am trying to figure out how safe these type of sites are. Obviously they do NOT host anything on their site/host, they just grab the videos from other sites and show them on their site.

But i just want to be sure. Am i missing something here? Anything i should look after or note down before doing anything?

    Thanks!

Doesn't matter if you don't host the material, linking to copyrighted material is still contributory infringement and illegal.

Since there are tons of sites giving link to the copyrighted material, you can easily get away by providing proper disclaimer.

Also mention that content is posted by the users and not the website owner to be on the safe side.

You can also mention the SOURCE (for eg. a competetive site) and so the responsiblity of providing that link will be the source not yours.

Some pretty weak arguments there, none of which will stand up in a proper court of law. A disclaimer doesnt mean a thing if you are breaking the law already. If the authorities do become involved and the server gets seized it will be quite clear to someone checking the logs that it was you posting the content. You dont absolve any sort of responsibility by naming the site its hosted on and, as previously mentioned, you are still aiding copyright theft.

Disclaimers will not protect you. The sheer number of sites out there like this though means you aren't guaranteed to be caught.
