    Still just to humour him: 'back links' are hyperlinks that point back at your website. You can check these by doing a google on the term 'link:yoursite.com'

    You can create or build them by just submitting your site's info in directories or by doing link exchange.

    You need the permission of site owner on which you are going to put your link... try the "Directory" section of this forum , you will get a lot of free directories in which you can submit your site and get "Back Links"
