Hello, I'm in a stupid situation at the moment. I got addicted to webmaster forums, before it was valuable since you could sell signature links but these days these aren't worth a lot anymore. Instead of these posts I think I could be earning more when writing articles & blog posts instead... Do you also have this problem? Does someone have a solution for me?
I hear you -- I often get caught up reading too many threads, though particularly I read too many of my magazines / e-zines. Often times, I must yell at myself to get back to work A solution? I would say treat it like an addiction, make yourself condition in order to limit your time on forums. I had a coach development workshop, and a psychology advised to use a rubber band method -- every time you get a thought of checking the forums, snap the rubber band on your wrist. If all else fails, just block the forums from your computer haha
Signature links arn't entirely worthless at the moment, just going down in value because less people want them, and because of the rate of fraud.
I know what you mean XD Maybe you should create a schedule, or set a fixed time for browsing in forums...like 8am-8.30am..something like that.
I've found that I make more money writing articles. Plus, I still have my sanity at the end of the day because I'm not straining my eyes reading forum posts and threads.
Its easy to get side tracked on the internet. I suggest writing down a list of things you want to accomplish for the day and once those are done then you can browse the forums. This helps me not get side tracked. Trust me its easy to do.
It's better to limit yourself on the time you spend on forums each day, that way you won't be wasting your time.
No,i don't have this problem. I have plug in tools to help me monitor my time at DP. I set it 1 hour/day at DP,so after used up,i cannot logon to DP again.
I think you should not stop reading ( browsing ) forums, but reduce the time put in. As knowledge is power keep increasing it. See, what you read is what you need , go that way and rest of the time invest it in other activities
I think the solution is too work with a friend/partner and keep each other motivated by some advice/tips/off topic giggles to help work longer and better
I like browing forums very much cuz I can express my thoughts and communicate with others. But I can manage my schedule. Sometimes articles can express my thought more clearly, but forums is a place where people can change their ideas quickly and efficiently.
