First of all who says to you link building is waste of time. It is wasting of time only if you don't know how to do link building
no its not true that we r wasting our time on linkbuilding actually this is the time to get traffic to our site
you spend on the links, so you can get long term free traffic otherwise, you spend on traffic for as long as you can afford
Links are very important, but they need to be relevant to your website niche and should compliment your website.
Creating links is also a great way of getting newly created web pages indexed by SE. It is also worth building links as soon as you register the domain name, this will reduce the time you have to wait after you site is complete.
lol this guys mad the post a few before this is the best to sum it up, the guys living back in 1997 nowadays its all about just tagging your site in as many relevant places as possible...and I dont mean spamming, all that leads to is being banned from various forums/directories/whatever else you use
Lol OP is an idiot. Link building brings traffic if you know what you're doing. If you're dumb enough to go find a blog about poisonous snakes and drop links about breast implants and shoe polish, then you're not going to get traffic.
I definitely think you can waste too much time linkbuilding, rather than using the time to create good content on your site. There's no point having loads of incoming links if your website is poor. Good content helps to improve your website's reputation, and then you should gain more natural links.
I dont understand, i mean we work on backlinks so we can do better in Serps, therefore driving more traffic.. Not sure how you would get more traffic without links?
Link building is not a waste of time because of this kind of strategy you can drive more traffic to you're sites. I use SEnuke for my link building campaign. If you want you're sites indexed by google try to learn new things in link building with the use of other tools like SEnuke..
look read this from wikiP --------------------- Google states that their engine takes "nofollow" literally and does not "follow" the link at all. However, experiments conducted by SEOs show conflicting results. These studies reveal that Google does follow the link, but does not index the linked-to page, unless it was in Google's index already for other reasons (such as other, non-nofollow links that point to the page).[9][10] --------------------- Just concentrate on getting good links from authoritive or quality sites. no follow or not. Goog will follow but not index the page unless its already indexed.. if it's a trusted site, there will be some benefit. No follow does hold weight. I have a link on wikipedia no follow to a site I own, it gives me more link juice than most the lower PR directories and article sites I'm on.. go figure..
In short, every link you can get is a good link, but the closer the site linking to you is related to your topic, the better, SY
I'm no expert but this is what I understand... Link buildings can earn you high ranking PR. That really is true. It is a waste of time if you think you can manage to add rich content posts to your blogsite or website from time to time and you know to yourself that it has a lot of keywords that people around the globe search every single day. You will surely be on top of SERPS without using backlinks. Others might like your article and would add your page as an additional information for their blogsite or website viewers and readers. That is why they say content is KING. PR can help you rank higher than others if someone search something in the Internet and is close to your main keyword. We do have different ways to be on top of SERPS. It would be better for us if we just respect eachothers way of doing it. Just say "that works for you? well, this works for me." Cheers!!!
what are results of link building i don't care but in my point of view link building helps you in every aspect in PR in Traffic and many more so link building is as necessary as a hosting account to keep your website live
This entire thread seems to be a bashing session, so lets try to put some facts in here. First off, I want to agree with OnlineIMExpert's original post. The best way to get your website ranking is to provide useful content to your readers, and generate direct traffic through Article Directories and sites that use your article (And thus your bio box/links). I think you should install some statistics scripts that tell you where your traffic is coming from. I have a test website that is 100% backlinks with no Social bookmarking at all. It has over 1,000 backlinks, and over 70% of them are PR3 and higher. The site is in a weak niche that has less than 4,000 local searches per month for the main keyword. With all those backlinks, and the page 1 SERP competition for those keywords having less than 100 backlinks each, and having no PR 4 or better backlinks, my website still sits on the 9th page of Google. I plan on reviving this website with new tactics on December 1st, using non-backlink tactics that give direct traffic and have proven to be worth my time. I have to agree with OnlineIMExpert, yet disagree with the Forum Signature comment here. I get a good amount of traffic from people clicking my forum signatures. Of course, once you stop being active on a forum, you lose the momentum. And you have to provide useful information. "Link Building" is a broad term that seems to be used improperly throughout this thread. Going to niche related blogs, forums, etc, and leaving comments or forum signatures (Then not posting in the forum) is a complete waste of time. The Google Algorithm is a complete mystery to everyone outside of Google itself. With that said, I am sure you have no real understanding of what Google does to determine the rankings of a website. http://highdefinitioncamera.org is a current work in progress of mine. I was testing a strategy I found in a 8 page PDF from the Warrior Forum. The only promotion the website has had is WordPress' Automatic Ping system, Putting the websites RSS Feed in my Digg profile, and running a Ping.fm plugin to post to Facebook and Twitter. I have many backlinks going to the website, but none have been created by me. It currently is sitting on the 2nd page of Google for "High Definition Camera". The website is 9 days old (as of this posting), and as of midnight, my average traffic on the website was 103 unique visitors per day. The website has generated 14 CPA offers and sold 9 Flip UltraHD Camera's (Amazon Affiliates).
