today is one of those days when i got 100+ clicks and no single sale thru my PPC campaigns. I am wondering if i should add price for clickbank products in PPC ads so people know better what to expect before they come to a site. Would that increase conversion rates ? Any experiences?
it really depends on what you are selling I remember chris x talked about it in adwords miracle in his view do not put the price as it lowers ctr and at the end of the day conversions do not improve anyway But if you ask me it all depends on the niche, anything health related It is better to put the price just because they are looking to cure something does not mean they are reay to pay So it really depends on the niche. I am still split testing this to come up with my own opinion though
personally i like to put a price in the ad, it keeps all the people who are looking for free stuff away. it helped me with conversions but agbeyegbe is right the clicks are low. i an undecided on wither i should keep the price or not. since a sales page is what a sales page is for, trying to sell the product.
i dont put a price instead i only use targeted keywords.. I dont use broard match. for example for one of my products I wouldnt use the keyword "teeth grinding", but i would (am) using "stop teeth grinding". currently my campaign ctr is 4.77% - which allows me to bid a lot less. With a price in the ad my ctr would be lower and i would have to bid more to keep my ad position. my search network conversion rate is 3.28% my content network is a huge 10.53%! only 2 sales, but i did it in only 19 clicks which cost $1.68 - My sales volume is low, but my ROI is insane! I think keywords are a much bigger deal then putting price in ads. cheers, Drew
I will throw my 02 in: If you have tons of wasted clicks, chances are they are a) Freebie lurkers or those just starting their research on the topic not ready to buy yet b) Competitors clicking-reclicking c) Farms/BS clicks. In my experience: * I put the price proudly *ONLY $x Money Back Guarantee* * If not the price - put *One Low Fee-Buy>* I think it's important to make sure your surfers are NOT just starting their research, making them aware right away that this click will not bring any 'free' info, and you will be asked to buy something, will indeed minimize your freebie clickers. * Never use the word FREE in your ads * I find that if you 'question' your ads it turns clicks over a lot beter - *Still Broke? Try This>* * 100 clicks without a sale is still not that bad imo - 300 clicks is my threshold for guaging campaigns... * Content Network 'can' waste clicks, however can also cut your cost over 60% and or increase clicks by that much for the sames spend. However is more of a hit/miss than search. * Utilize the timing features: If you know that Saturdays and Tuesdays are slow, turn the ads off for those days. * Turn your ads off at 2am-7am, night owl clicks are horrible, and usually noone is in the buying state of mind in those hours, or even in the 'right' state of mind... Cheers G wish you the best with your efforts. NC.
yes! I added pricing info to all my health related ads now ! Good tips ! add: CNetwork is off anyway...i also just read "beating adwords"...not bad (someone recommended it) even if i knew 99,98% what the book said already I will monitor how it goes now with the pricing info. Btw. "beating adwords" recommends setting your daily budget to 5x-10x "more than what you're willing to spend" <--- are they paying for my ads ????? If i set this to 5x what i have right now that would be quite a lot.
I used to show price in ad campaigns and it turned out to be a good change with lesser PPC clicks and more conversions.
yeah my day was pretty bad too i spent about 34$ and only got 19$ back but i made 1,200$ through a private deal so thats what kept me from going insane.
whow...my clicks have SERIOUSLY gone down after i added pricing info. The irony is that this is a good thing...i rather have less clicks and more sales than throwing down A LOT down google's throat. The other irony now is: Since CTR is down (because of the price in the ad now)....probably Quality Score will go down too...and therefore CPC will increase.. So...i added pricing info to avoid paying Google for wasted clicks....and it will backfire and G will take back the money with increasing CPC since less clicks will happen How you turn and flip it..Google will always win....
this is why i dont ad a price.. with a great QS you can pay half as much as other advertisers. Adding the price to ads on content network may be a good idea tho as ctr doesnt matter. But then again, you can pay heaps less per click on content network anyway.
for example...i have a campaign for gaming guides. Assuming that a big majority of those potential cutomers might be kids and they see an ad "XXX Gaming Guide Here"....they click, maybe even thinking they get something for free or just some online guide. But of course i want to sell them. then i have a bunch of health related also. Anyway i will monitor this for a while. The gaming guide clicks have SERIOUSLY gone down, health still tops out budget every day.
Well, I tried putting the price in the adword description, and guess what, 200+ clicks, 0 sales. Kinda sucks if you ask me. Then again, it was a test product anyway.
I dunno Its been a really bad week i think people arn't in the spending mood since its christmas time there broke shopping for others.. spent 82$ yesterday to only get 38$ today i spent about 25$ so far 0 sales. Rough week.
tell me about it...in addition some douche just refunded a sale....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...not a good day today.
to be honest i just cant wait till february, great month for sales! oh make sure you've got all your negative keywords - free, hack, clickbank, scam, ripoff, pdf, gratis, etc. anybody searching with these words are more then likely not going to buy
