Was on page 2 but now no where to be found

Im not sure if this is the result of sandbox or the recent google updates I been reading on this forum but I was on page 2 for "stem cell news" 2 days ago but now its nowhere to be found not even top 100 or top 200.

Does anyone have a clue? This is a fairly recent site. Less than a month old.

My other question is what affects a keyword in google?
I mean my site was ranked for "stem cell news" but when i typed in the other keywords, it was nowhere to be found. Of course this was before the recent update. what makes one keyword appear and the others dont?

Thanks guys and great forum lol. Tons of info even though I dont understand some of the jargons yet.

My website home page is coming on the 5th page..but i want the targetted page

    Why is that so?

If your site is young, it can jump aroudn in the SERP very easily. Just wait it out and see if it increases in the next weeks

That happens usual for new sites, get on rankings then dropped after few days/weeks. Update your site regularly and get strong backlinks to ensure your site will be cache/index more often.

The rankings fluctuations are seen a lot regarding the newly launched websites and this is natural. The concept of Google Sandbox as well as the matter of gaining backlinks gradually and adding content pages all mean that some temporary shifting might be seen from time to time and usually after some months, more fixed and stable results and placements could be expected and this is relevant to the content pages and links getting older.

I agree - of course there is no proof, but it's in Google interest to rank sites that pay for advertising high

this happened a lot to old websites lately.
Either G gets back into senses, or it will suffer a big drop.
All we need now is a good move from Yahoo and/or MSN.

Thats no true Adwords will not help you for better ranking. You can only waste your time and money. If you serious about advertising try to create and maintain a campaign with a positive ROI. I'm telling you that from the point that I'm almost 4 years Adwords advertiser

I had the same thing happen to my site. New sites jump to the top real quick. Then they peter out. Have patience and keep working on backlinks

hmm sounds like Google :) SERPS always change, sorry I don't have much useful to say about this. Just keep up linkbuilding, especially one-way links or high quality exchanges.

I have similar issues with my site as well. Rankings have dropped or are even nowhere now from past few days for a blog which is more than a year old now and was on the first page for many keywords.
