Two weeks ago my one sight just disappeared from search and I assumed I had got the sandbox rating from google especially since I 3 days prior to that had changed some titles & keyword phrases. Just for giggles last night I did a search for the one key phrase i had changed to see what other leading sites were showing up and a few pages in there I was. So was I sandboxed for 2 weeks or what really happened? Does anyone have any insight on this? Tony ;~)
Maybe just a glitch, i have several established site 4 or mores years old and once in a while they drop from G's index, normally only for a day or so but its quite normal for this top happen
this is how happens with Google. IF you got some links instantaneously. Google will rank you high but then it analyze the links over time and push you up or down. I have seen generally they push you down. but in your case it opposite. you changed you suite Google find it non relevant. and then they analyze it fully later on. And gave you the rank back. this is just my idea from my experience
Yep I agree it was a glitch. They update the index all the time and new sites get on top and push the old ones down. Once the dust settles, the older sites get their place back. Nothing to worry about!
I thought I had the same problem for a site that I got to the #1 ranking for my search term. Out of a whole 125 results. I was excited. It dropped off the charts but now it is back at #1 and there are 15,000 results now. This was a brand new domain (less than two weeks old) with brand new content and it ranked very quickly and stayed there as well. It did drop off for a bit, but it is there now. I don't know how long it dropped off though. I just assumed I was sand boxed as well, however you have to consider that just because you are going to google.com doesn't mean you are getting search results from the same machine each time. They have different farms and each farm has to index on their own. So there are tons of factors involved.
