Coming up on september 11 (wich happens to be my birtday) I got to ask what you think. Was September 11th choosen as it "spells" 911 (emergency number) or was it choosen at random?
911 will all unfold when the facts are all released in about a 100 years, maybe, who knows 911 random, fits the bill I guess
Probably by design, the whole attack was all about showing off and making an impact. So they probably thought they were playing world cop, in their sick minds that is.
Well one reason is that Tuesday is/was the slowest day of the week for air travel so there are fewer passengers on planes There are a bunch more statistics on Tuesdays and why that day of the week would be preffered over others
Given that you're into terrorism or just in general? Such considerations are likely to have been a factor in deciding a date, but there are about 52 Tuesdays each year, so the question is still valid I think.
Something tells me that logic dictates that it would be more intelligent to plan on a day where there would be 4 similiar fully fueled jets available, rather than choosing a specifc calendar date.
I thought 9/11 was the anniversary of some treaty or something in the middle east. Coulda sworn, at some point, I remember reading that 9/11 is an important date over there.
I wasn't suggesting it was random. I think though that you can find a coincidence with just about any date and I don't think that they selected a date that if displayed numericaly matched up with the phone number used for emergencies, and then planned backwards from there. I'm pretty sure when things are years in the planning waiting for every condition to be suitable, they don't hinge everything on what is a very small relevance (in the grand scheme of things)
Sure, it's unlikely that they waited a long time for the date, but there is the possbility that the date was chosen over other, nearby, dates because of that. I've thought about this for some time (just not got around to ask anyone about it), has it been suggested before?
