    Why bother to even look at it? It’s kind of terrible to see this type of email floating around hoping to catch unsuspecting users. If only we can report and catch the person responsible.

    Agreed! Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo accounts are mostly for personal usage with alot of personal mails. Most people don't even change the damn password. :)

    google will never ask you to hand over your password by e-mail.

    I think any e-mail asking for your username + password is SPAM......

    Well confirmation emails do exactly that. They give you the username AND the password. With that you have total access to all of their accounts

    Obviously its a scam, I get many such emails, some are about verifying Paypal account others are to verify Moneybookers account.

    True, true, but some sites (such as Citibank) ask you to type your ma's maiden name when doing something important or if your browser has changed or whatever.

    Plus, not all confirmation emails include your password, especially in the case of banks. You get sent a link, which you follow to reset the password, and they ask you all kinds of stuff when doing so. Which is, of course, a good thing generally. :)
