My girl was checking her MySpace account and realize a bulletin that she never posted. I checked for her and realize someone was logging into her account and advertising there site by posting bulletins to advertise as shown: This ever happen to anyone? Just wanted to post this to give everyone a heads up so you guys can be careful with your accounts and make sure your passwords are very hard to figure out so this wont happen to you.
yea first thing i did was change the password.... didnt know it was common since this is something new to me.... Thanks
I've read this thread here about something like that http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=125282
You should be particularly wary of myspace sites that require you to give them your login info so that they may update your profile layout etc. My friend used one to update her profile and it sent out a bulletin advertising the site.(duh!).Even if they don't use it themselves, the sites may store your details and sell/rent them to spammers. Don't trust them. There is nothing wrong with a profile that isn't drenched in glitter images
A lot of users will have easily guessable passwords - their birthday, same as their login name, a common dog or cat name, friend's name, or a dictionary word. This is probably more true of Myspace members because they tend to be young, and because it's a huge site it's more likely to be targetted for password hacking by bots.
If you read the myspace forums, you'll see a number of people posting about the same problem. In almost all cases it's due to the person having given out their user email and password. http://forum.myspace.com/index.cfm?...1375789&adTopicID=27&categoryID=67&IsSticky=1
