Will PayPal sort him or her out? Yuk, what a slime ball. Contest setters should be informed. Couldn't they send PM to their winners and then only take payment details from the winner in a PM in reply to that PM?

What makes you think I am getting my money back?

Yes this is the best thing to do and I have certainly learnt my lesson there!

I am sorry to hear that something like this happened, but why the hell is everyone so worried about the safety of the Contest holders ??

What about the designers ?? Only 3/10 contests are being paid these days. What about that ?? Should the admins not do something about that ?? May be some kind of prepayment from Contest holders or anything that can guarantee a winner.

AfterHim.com - sorry to hear you are a victim aswell. do you have a thread where this happened?and investawise, any word on your money yet? hope you get it back soon

i recently held a contest a contacted the winner first, also paid him first before recieving the goods. its so low that people will do something like this just for a few bucks. i wonder if they know that getting a day job actually pays more than attempting to scam people like this? its definately something for the resume though... I doubt that you will receive your money. I was scammed too, as I posted somewhere earlier and escalated the dispute but Paypal instantly answered (didn't even have time to go through the evidence) that they only handle shipping problems as mentioned in the TOS. Lame :(

Well it looks like the guy knows what he is doing and didnt leave the money in his account for long....just had this email from PayPal:

So, the guy who did it will quite probably read this and sit there very smugly. Thankfully I believe in Karma and he will get his punishment at some point in life.

Can you please describe here the steps that you followed ? I was scammed by a guy, but PayPal didn't handle my complaint, they instantly answered that they only handle shipping problems as mentioned in their ToS

Im not sure to be honest, maybe when I made the payment I forgot to change it to payment for a service. Perhaps that is the thing to do, if in doubt about a seller/contest winner then pay through PayPal and leave it selected as payment for goods.

The downside is the person will see your address details but at least you know you are covered if things go wrong. Although my experience shows that even if you win the dispute you probably wont get your money back if the scammer knows what they are doing.

    All contest lover,
Beside this case, there is so many contest which unfair, have a problem, scammer, etc....
So, i think subforum about this things should be added. It's for the sake of contest participation and contest holder comfortability.

    How do you think?

Yeah, actually I think its a great idea! :D
We have to ask a mod or admin or something about this... :)
Because, many things are unfair, and a subforum for these kinds of complains will be good. ;)
