Warning to all contest holders

There appears to be a scam artist going around who is registering DP profiles using very slight mistypes of the users who have won contests.

He then sends you a PM shortly after you announce the winner and tells you where to send Payment. If you are not paying attention you wont notice he did not win as his username is always only one letter different.

I would advise all contest holders to send the winner a PM by clicking on their username in the forum and only deal with replies to that PM - not any direct PMs you recieve.

Unfortunately I did not notice until I had sent the payment so now I am having to raise a PayPal dispute too. I cant believe the levels some will steep to for just $25. However, the money doesnt matter it is the principle and this guy will regret messing with me

The email address he seems to be using to ask for payments is - DO NOT send any money it is a scammer. He has already been reported to DP admins.

Just wanted to add that the real 'jokomamamita' who posted above still got the cash....so at the moment I am $25 out of pocket. That is for another week or so until I can escalate the dispute to a claim with PayPal....unless he happens to refund the cash before then.

No you misunderstand. I still paid the winner on top of paying the scammer.

I always make sure the winners get paid :)

I really feel bad that someone impersonated me and took away your USD25. Hope that the person would die in hell!

Anyway, after sending the payment, you can view his name right (in Paypal)? Any info on that? And can you paste the PM that he sent you stating his Paypal address (Just to see his way of writing)?

leetsooc & mantero - Despite being scammed, Investawise still paid me. Hope that your money would be refunded! Please do update me (us) regarding this issue.
@mantero - Yeah, he's been stalking me for the past 1 month! Gosh..

Sure - the title of his PM was - Contest Winner.

    And the text was:

Thank you for selecting me as a winner

    Send payment to

I will send the psd of the source

His real name....at least according to PayPal is Buncoh Nigora.

i guess one way to avoid this in the future would be for CH's to contact the winner directly BEFORE posting the results on the thread. that way any scammers watching the thread won't know when to strike.

hey, Im sorry for you guys who are involved in this. Hopefully paypal will solve the matter soon and right for you, Investawise.
I already checked if there is someone who "scammed" my DP username by writing a new private message TO: "myself"...DP will show suggestion of all the different usernames starting with the same base as the username you write in there.
You can try this method yourself to find possible "your username scammers".
Its horrible that there are guys like this out there, and thanks to Investawise for informing everybody.
    Good luck.

    Never thought about this trick.
That fake "jokomamaimta" should be cursed to hell by taking advantages of others' hard work.

@Misa Misa: You can use your DEATH NOTE. LOL

I have received an email from DP that someone try to log in with my username. But he/she failed. And I checked the ip that DP sent to me - from India.

ps: wasn't me. maybe it was a scammer...
