Shauner - comments like this are not helpful. It is NOT against google policy to draw attention to your SITE - that is what everyone wants to do be it via search engines or advertising. Marketing your SITE is fine. What IS against policy is drawing unnatural attention to the ADS. I can only assume that somewhere in the newsgroup postings he mentioned "supporting the ads" or something similar as promoting a SITE there is perfectly legitimate.
Actually, I read it as spamming the newsgroup but there you go, lots of different interpretations. It would help if the original poster was a bit clearer about what they were doing.
thanx every one whitespider read this::::::::: Please note that publishers may not bring unnatural attention to a website displaying Google ads through unsolicited mass emails or unwanted advertisements on third-party websites.::::::::::::: i was sending forwards to groups and added the site link to the forwards. so if we only add the link without saying visit my site.... do u think it will be okey? or should i ask adsense?
Unsolicited = Unwanted = SPAM If you use one Yahoo group as a simple mailing list..I dont see why Google should have problem with that. In the past I had used a Yahoo group as a mailing list.. I didnt have any problems. I think you sent your messages to many groups and someone complained to Google.
Seleno - aha yes that is a different issue. I dont think that adding links to forums is a breach of TOS - after all most of the longer standing members in this forum do that in their signatures and clearly there is nothing wrong with that. ONE possible answer COULD be this (and I stress I am guessing). It is possible that the owner/administrator of the newsgroup(s) (and remember this is NOT Yahoo themselves) has a disclaimer on their group/forum that says something like "do NOT use this group to post links to websites for commercial purposes". THEY may have considered your postings in breach of that and THEY may consider your postings to be SPAM (i.e. that the post is unsolicited). If they did then it is possible that THEY reported you to Google and Google takes all complaints seriuously. If this is the case that might explain why you got a "warning" rather than a "ban". They may take the view that you have NOT breached THEIR TOS but that you have breached the rules of the newsgroup - hence a polite warning to cease. Its just a thought as there doesn't seem to be an obvious answer here. My advice would be this:- Whatever the reason - its clear Google dont like it - so stop it. There is little point putting your account at risk.
thanx alot for helping me...but you didn't tell me what about the link? if i'm adding only link in yahoo groups page....google will not like it also?
another question mydomain.com have google adsense banner but mydomain.com/forum deosn't contain any adsense add so...can i still my forum link which deos't contain any adsense ads? wish to get good answer
Good point, I hadn't thought of that. I think this is coming down to Google's changing business model, pushing more toward CPM rather than CPC. Now every visit is costing someone money. Soon they won't let you visit your own sites!
If you got a warning, read the letter, do what it says, then send an email listing what you have done, and ask if you are in compliance and if there is anything else you can do in the future to remain so. The best thing to do is maintain a good line of communication. That goes a long way to assuring them you are doing what they ask.
Read AND memorize both https://www.google.com/adsense/terms and https://www.google.com/adsense/policies and don't post here again until you've done that!!!! OK, threads dead, we can get back to work now!!!
Seleno was spamming the newsgroup(s), which is why he got a warning from Google. He did not get a warning for posting a link to his site in a forum or a couple of forums. Don't get paranoid, people.
