Hello DP, Just wanted to let you let you know, maybe others are receiving an increase of broken reciprocal links. Some people like to submit their url, add the reciprical id, once accepted then remove the id. If you are paying a perosn or company for manual submissions beware because they might be doing this with your website. Once i notice a reciprical is broken in my admin panel, i simply remove the site. so make sure if you use a company that they are being honest with your money. there are one or 2 people in particular submitting sites to me that think they are smart and can break the system. their wrong. Again, just be sure that if you are paying someone to manually submit your website to others to make sure they are not breaking the link. -Tim
hmm.. It seems there are pretty bad kind of directory submission service is around. I personally never asked for the job. It's kind of silly to pay $ for such an easy task even though it could be time consuming. They don't guarantee any inclusion, so it's useless to me.
can't agree more...just wasting money. but probabaly there is quality submission service with $$ dollars fee.
yea i agree also. ive honestly never paid a dime for a submission. and i agree there are some good quality submission services out there. ive just noticed a jump in links being broken, no biggie tho, i just remove them from my website. break the rules, i break the link. im not trying to target this at link submission services,..but their email adress when submitting is a link submission service, i sent out an email to see if it could have been an error. if infact it was some error on their part and its resolved i wont release the email adress. if so, ill let you know.
It is easy job--but time consuming --very much at that. I used to do freelance submission service. But those automated softwares took away my bread and butter I could submit only to 100 directories/day-- even with using ROBOFORM for filling forms. Those link farms are always using autosubmitters --otherwise how could they provide such cheap services--and its gonna be natural that directories would get spammed or things like these happen.
Seems you are confused between link building guys and directory submissions, the error you are pointing out is done by link building guys who exchange links with other sites and also submit reciprocal links with other directories. Always check the companies portfolio, recommendations and feedback on their services
Just want to let everyone know........amitpatel likes to submit in the Top Category Do that again I will delete all of the listing in all the free directories I have While I mention amit, another I will mention.....Dotcompals. Moving a list or even deleting it is a task itself.
There is no excuse for directory owners for not submitting to the right sub-category and specially when it is free. I have seen many that do this - just waste my time and for nothing because their listing is deleted.
Not only you have to filter sites that would never be listed, you'll need to deal with numbnuts that don't submit to the proper categories. I don't know if this will do any good, but I am making a Banned Sites that I will never include in my free directory network, not all will be listed as this could be the longest list ever, when I am motivated or when I just feel that I need to list this people I will post it on my sites, hopefully another free directory owner will see and ban them aswell. I been getting a roughly 80% or so being submitted in the Top category and offcourse I no longer move them I just simply delete it.
Iam just amazed how you get 80% links in wrong category and no one in the world gets that much. My free directory gets around 5-10% of those kind of submissions, may be some problem in your site?
brother he pointed a finger on me too, as if i was submitting links to a directory first time in my life. from his page - http://www.thebestdirectories.com/links/banned-sites/ Check out the spelling of Wrong @ Wong Worng
I don't see how the script i'm using could be a problem on all 3 free sites I have. My paid directories don't have any problems at all..once in a while a joker will submit without paying. The problem lies with the submitter using a software to do the job, whether an individual or a submittion company's doing this. The script I use basically takes in the order and my job is to process them or dispose. Edit: I've edited the spelling....Thanks Amit
Mate, can you throw more light on what I am doing wrong, so that i can correct myself. thanks in advance
not only some submission service submits to top category but also wrong category.... you can see why the approval rate is so low...My solution is to delete them all.
A smart links submitter can also create a page somewhere with a reciprocal link and add all his sites with this one reciprocal link. He will not delete the page, but this reciprocal link is useless.
Yes its true most of the submission services submit to top category as they fail to find a correct category for their site thats the problem Since some directories use a different category structure it is always difficult to find a correct category for a website So if they did not find the desired category mentioned by the client he submits to wrong category
