was contacted about a month ago by a Jamie McPhee from a company Digital Welly.
Wanted to buy a link to geintingcasino.com

Put the link online, didn't get payment after a week.. got mail that they have a new payment system and it would take another week.. next week still no payment.. after a few days mail that it'd be there certainly the week after..
changed the link to a nofollow until I'd get payment.. another week of promises I would get paid.. last week then mails that it was paid (while I don't see anything on my paypal)..

so you're now all warned for this person/company..

That's why you get paid before you put links up... Take it down for crying out loud

I have run into the same scenarios and simply take the link down for non-payment.
Not that much to fret over.
I still put the links up first, in good faith.

Now those that claim to want it and don't pay while others have been turned down because of a prior sale.....that gets complicated.
Can't say I would call anyone out though, unless it was a really blatant scam or something.

It is not professional to call out a company like that.

They might have had genuine finance problems.

Scotty: thx - already took the link down and will not communicate any further with them.. just wanted to post a warning for them before they waste more time of others, seemed to mee they were just fishing for free links..

claymation: yes I also put up links first and give people 1 week for payment. first time it happens to me that someone doesn't pay and wastes my time like this

alldaylinks: if they have genuine finance problems they shouldn't be buying links.. it doesn't take 3 weeks to pay by paypal..
I wouldn't have mind if he'd have told me in the beginning it could take 2 to 3 weeks to get paid..
but this guy was just making fake promises to win extra time and even telling blatant lies (that it was paid through paypal) and now stopped communicating

Fair enough, but still sometimes not a good idea to post names / companies in a thread like this.

    Hi Aeneas (flippers.be),

To introduce myself my name is Andrew Banks and I am a Director and founder of Digital Welly.

I have sent you a separate email with more detail around this and I would prefer it, for the sake of professionalism, if in future we can keep our discussions relating to this matter in private - or at least try to communicate in private initially.

In order to give a balanced account on this forum below is an extract of the email I have just sent to you.

It’s been brought to my attention that there was a delay in paying you via PayPal – the payment in question was sent on 7th July and cleared on 14th July (PayPal transaction ID XXXX-removed-XXXX). I have attached confirmation of this here from PayPal and can only apologise if there has been any delay.

What has also been brought to my attention is that you’ve posted publicly on Digital Point saying we haven’t paid you, suggesting we have cash flow issues, slandering one of our employees and also naming our client. What makes this worse is that we paid your bill 4 days before you posted this.

There are three issues we need to resolve here:

1 - Have you received the payment. If not please let me know as this is my first priority. We’ve obviously shaken your trust and I want to make sure you have the money in your account. Please call me directly on [MOBILE NUMBER REMOVED FROM FORUM] if you haven’t received the money and I will sort this for you today.

2 - Ensuring the links we have paid for are in place.

I hope that this is nothing more than crossed wires and hope we can resolve this between ourselves without the need to take it further.

I also hope that this sets the record straight on this forum. We are a genuine business and act professional at all times - if for whatever reason this payment hasn't been received then I assure you it is purely down to an error along the way and nothing more sinister.

I won't reply further on this thread as it is not in anyone's interests to turn this into a public discussion. Aeneas, if you can contact me either by phone or reply to my email I'll happily resolve these issues with you personally today.

    Yours sincerely,
    Andrew

As I said above, regardless of whether a company pays on time, it is essential to act professionally - not to "name and shame" unless it is absolute last resort.

Thanks for the reply, glad to hear you are a genuine business. Looking back I maybe shouldn't have posted all details publicly but reacted without thinking as I was promised each time payment shouldn't take more than only be a week and communications were going on for over a month already..

Can't find an option to edit/delete my first post so have reported it to administrators of the forum to ask if they can remove it.
