I am getting this error in my WP blog:

Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/home/gadgetst/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2009/12) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/gadgets:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp) in /home/gadgets/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 1933
    Code (markup):
    How to resolve this?

Too bad, that's a server restriction. Move to another host.

Yup. Your host doesn't allow you to use that file operation. Either contact them and see if they will remove the restriction otherwise you'll have to change host as zoneweb has said sorry man :(

Never mind, I managed to solve it :) Turns out that it was an error under Settings > Misc
