Do you mind if I ask how you have qualified this? Something does not really add up here.

    thanks,

It does add up. Google and Yahoo often put temp bans on IPs if they detect a lot of data trying to be gathered in a short space of time i.e checking the PR, indexed pages, backlinks etc of the top 200 search results in one quick swoop.

I'm not sure exactly but i think its about an hour. I usually go off and do something else if I get it!

Like any black hat spamming tool you are a fool for not using proxies. Any tool can be dangerous if used improperly like in your case.

Well I didn't consider it a blackhat tool since I found it in mozilla firefox plugins while looking for a backlink finder. All I did was query a couple of dental terms.

It's stupid because for some reason by default it searches the first 100 results and tries to get like 10 different SEO properties for each listing. I always thought tools like this did queries on the server side and just fed me the results. I had no idea it was using my freakin' IP.

I bet it is likely many people will look it up and end up using it, totally forgetting what the OP was talking about.

This is not black hat tool.
You can configure it not to download pagerank, not to download backlinks etc. There is help on this topic.
There are many tools like this one, SEOQuake, Seo for firefox, ... All these tools require some configuration.

You can simply change settings, "Search Preferences" -> "SEO Parameters" -> Page Rank -> "primary on demand"
In this case, SEO parameters line shows cached values and allows you to check any of seo parameters by clicking on question mark.

Some of the tools don't use proxies, which is almost like an AUTO-ban.
