Email google WHEN you notice any problems before they email you. A few months ago, I noticed I had a HIGH CTR on one of my sites.. The CTR was in the mid 50's. I contacted google right away and let them know that someone was messing around with one of the sites. After looking closer.. It seems one of my adsense got clicked on over 131,xxx TIMES. I didnt make anything from that by the look of the numbers, and google never responded but at least I contacted them first before they contacted me regarding it
It does seem that way Readytogo, I suppose it is just a case of Bad Luck for whoever gets stung by this, the worst thing for me is I had several hundred dollars in the account that disappeared along with the account! it wasn't right especially when you consider they don't even give you the slightest chance of defending yourself, Oh, Well another of lifes lessons learnt, taken in and bit by bit slowly forgotten about... At least looking on the bright side... "It can't happen again as I am unable to open another Adsense Account!"
Look...google is probably completely automated. I got a warning and pulled my ads...I must have sent 15 emails trying to figure out what to do and never got a single genuine email....all precanned responses. You have to be proactive. I went out and wrote scripts to geo target and to limit the number of clicks on ads. You can't rely on them to work with you at all! JT
I think the lesson is to diversify. Everybody loves Adsense until they get screwed like this. Those who haven't yet been screwed get complacent, thinking it won't happen to them, so they keep focusing on only Adsense. Better to build up affiliate business and other revenue sources. You might find it eventually does better for you. Adsense hasn't screwed me yet, but I'm spending more time on affiliates and they are slowing increasing in earnings, probably will overtake Adsense soon, especially as Adsense CPC has gradually fallen to such sh*tty levels.
This is exactly why adsense is a double edged sword if you do not have the proper revenue structure in place. All successful webmasters should be in a position where if this happens you can stick it to the man and continue to make money. This is also another reason to not piss anyone off, who may sabotage your adsense revenue.
For your info, third world outsourcing centers are better equipped and employ better educated people than your average American offices. You always get a chance to appeal the adsense ban as well. If you see unnatural activities on your account or CTR jumping suddenly, it is better to let google know. They will definitely consider this, I personally know some people who got their accounts reinstated.
Yeah, that why they fail to provide any useful customer service or technical support 95% of the time that I call, vs. 50% for American and Australian call centers.
So the moral of the story is always contact Google if there's a massive upswing in clicks or anything suspicious ... right? I looked through the Adsense website and didn't really see any other option (although I guess you could temporarily remove the Adsense ads as well).
Its definitely a weird way to see other who get jealous of let say the owner sucessful earning income and then plan to destroy that person income. Even though the person may let say sucessfully destroy the sucessful person website with adsense, it doesn't change the fact that he is still earning so little. If it is me , i'll probably took a slightly harder way which is trying to learn more , understand how website advertising actually work and then generate income by multiply. Thank you for sharing your it with us. I'll make some extra-precaution and make a few extra basket for my eggs (once i figure out how to do it legally) .
