I just found SEVEN Digital Point members that were taking my money in subscription payments each month but not showing my links any longer.

I've been traveling a lot lately so I wasn't keeping up with making sure my links were up each month. But I learned my lesson - seven different members were defrauding and scamming me.

I've sent each of them e-mails asking for explanations and refunds. I'll post their usernames here if they refuse to do the right thing to protect other members from being cheated.

I'm going to give them a chance to explain and refund the last few months' payments. Maybe they all have good explanations (though this is doubtful).

If they don't make good, I'll post their names here and file disputes with PayPal, at the very least.

I hate people like that. Happened to me before so I make sure it won't happen to anyone I sell links to. Only conflict I had like this was when I sold a website and told the guy to keep the links on but he didn't. But he put them right back when I confronted him about it.

This practice caused me to stop by links here for a good long while sometime back. I was tired of buying links only to have them up for a few weeks then vanish.

I would suggest post both their names and websites. You know how easy they can get a new account.

Are the people involved still actively (last few days) selling links on the DP forum. If so I'd try to call them out in their sale thread (ie please PM me regarding our outstanding link placement).

    Please keep us informed.

    Thanks.

I couldn't agree more. I absolutely hate to fact that I have to check up on the links. It is such a bad usage of time on something I shouldn't have to do. In fact, I have gotten bad about doing it lately. I need to start checking again. I have over 1800 links I check in my program...so, it's all setup to do it. Just finding the time to actually do it is the trouble. I know I will find ones that are not there, and then I have to spend time emailing, etc.

Most importantly that is a breach of trust and breaking the deal. You should sort damages from them.

thanks doppy, i too would like to know who does this.

i keep a detailed log and check in often, but it seems that some people figure "out of sight, out of mind."

p.s. i can't wait to hear all the excuses!

I just downloaded your software to give it a try. Just a suggestion, it would be great if you could set an expire date for the sites it checks (maybe a notification as well to renew).

Interesting idea. Thanks for the feedback. Since I usually always renew, I hadn't really thought of that. If I discontinue an advertising, I just remove the site from the list. I think it's a good idea, though. Should it just not check a site that expires, automatically delete the site from the list, or did you have something else in mind?

I was thinking of a notification a week or so before the expiry and if you don't renew (change the expiry date) automatically delete it from the list.

Another thing that I think that it would be helpful is to be able to create fields in the notes. For example, email of seller (contact details in general), transaction IDs, date of purchases renewals and type of link (sitewide, one page, footer etc). One final suggestion (although maybe a bit far fetched) integration with popular email clients (an email seller button that will launch the default email client, maybe even using templates :D for renewals, missing links, changes etc).

Just my first thoughts, I haven't really tested it a lot yet so I might be missing a few of the features it already has.
